Grand Rapids: Parkinson's Exercise & Recreation Class (PERC)

What:

Helps achieve and maintain the highest level of physical functioning. This class is led by Physical Therapist very familiar with the needs of those with Parkinson's.  The class provides enjoyable exercise tailored to assist people with Parkinson’s improve balance, strength and motor functions. You may participate alone or bring a partner.

Class is offered EVERY WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY, from 1:15pm until 2:15pm

Additional Information:

Doctor’s approval in writing is required.  Cost is $3.00 per session or 11 classes for $30 prepaid.  A physician's note approving participation in the class is required.  Also, participants need to be safe for dynamic movement and balance activities or they are welcome to have a family member or caregiver guard them.   Music is used to stimulate effort and pacing, but this is not a dance class.   We strive to provide the foundational flexibility, strength, and balance control needed to keep posture erect and walking safe and stable.
